Lightbearer

Lightbearer is a dungeon puzzler game where you find yourself in a pitch-black dungeon with only one torch to guide you through the darkness. The game is part of HedgeJam #5, and the objective is to make your way through the levels, avoiding traps and solving puzzles along the way.

To move the player and the torch around, you'll use the W, A, S, D keys, and pick up the torch with the space bar. The game's top-down lighting system makes for a unique and immersive gameplay experience, as you use the light from your torch to reveal the objects and tiles around you.

In addition to the challenging lighting mechanics, you'll also need to collect keys to unlock doors and progress through the levels.

While the initial loading time may be a bit longer, the game's intuitive controls, challenging mechanics, and immersive gameplay make Lightbearer an experience worth waiting for. Can you make it through the dungeon with only one torch to light your way? Play Lightbearer and find out.

All graphics assets and the music are in the public domain and were created before the jam started.

The game is open source as well. If you want to tinker with the code, find it here: https://github.com/3cki/HedgeJam5

A lot of fun and clever use of the torch mechanics.

I also like the amount of difficulty increased per level. It's just right to stay engaged in solving the puzzles.

Nice, love how you use the torch for more then lighting the level.
